Bank Account Levy (Garnishment)
The IRS has the authority to take all of the money out of your bank account(s) without any notice to you. This is called a Bank Levy. When your bank or other financial institution receives a levy from the IRS, they freeze your account for 21 days during which you cannot withdraw money and your checks will bounce. This is a dangerous situation, especially if you have automatic withdrawals to pay bills. Your bills won’t get paid. After 21 days, your money is sent to the IRS and applied to your delinquent taxes. If you act now, we may be able to get the levy released immediately so you can pay your bills. Then we will represent you before the IRS to get your tax situation resolved in the best way possible. We work for you. And we will fight the IRS for you.
