Maybe. Not all tax preparers are licensed to represent clients before the IRS. Some can only prepare returns and have no representation rights. So, be sure to ask your tax preparer if they have tax-resolution authorization and experience. Tax Resolution and IRS negotiations work is a specialty. It is like the difference between a general-practice doctor and a brain surgeon. Tax Resolution is not taught in colleges or universities. The best way to learn it is to actually work inside the IRS Collection Division. At our firm, you will be working with a former IRS Revenue Officer who has done the collection work of the IRS, including garnishments, seizures of property, settling tax debts for less, as well as writing off debt for taxpayers. That is why we excel at what we do. Since we have been on the inside of the IRS, we know exactly how to handle them in any scenario, and we know how to get the best results for you from the IRS.

The IRS Fresh Start Initiative is a program that has made it a little easier for taxpayers to be able to pay their tax debts with a payment plan if they owe less than $50,000. Also, under that program, we may be able to get the IRS to not file a Federal Tax Lien against you.

The IRS has 2 programs where you would pay back less than what you owe. Many clients do qualify for these programs. We can take an analytical look at your finances and tell you if you qualify, and if you do, we will get that for you.

Our rate varies depending on the complexity of your IRS problem. We have been doing this kind of representation for over 30 years, and we are exceptionally good at it. For most clients, we charge one all-inclusive flat fee for the entire case, from start to finish. We usually do not charge by the hour, so you always know the cost. No gimmicks! We want to solve your IRS problem, not run up needless hourly fees. In many cases, we can break down the fees into payments to make it easier for you. Our fees are based on the time that is involved in resolving your case. Less complicated tax returns start at a few hundred dollars, IRS tax-resolution representation starts at about $500.

After an initial free consultation with you, we work on most of our tax-resolution cases in 3 stages.

  1. Evaluation: We contact the IRS for you and determine the entire scope of your tax problem. This allows us to develop a comprehensive strategy to present to you how we feel that your case can be resolved most favorably for you. We will explain it all to you, and we will outline your best options. Then you tell us how you want us to proceed on your behalf.
  2. Compliance: We make sure that you have filed all tax returns that you are responsible for. If there are returns that need to be filed, we can provide that service for you before we proceed further. This is an IRS requirement before they will discuss a resolution for your case.
  3. Resolution: After you are in complete filing compliance, we will contact the IRS to finish the resolution phase of your case. After that, your tax problem will be resolved, and you will know exactly where you stand with the IRS. NO MORE SURPRISES, NO MORE STRESS.

Yes, we are licensed in all 50 states. Even before the pandemic, a lot of our work was done remotely because it is easier and less expensive for our clients. In fact, most of our contact with the IRS has always been remote, by phone, fax, or email. Working remotely really does save our clients money. It allows us to set a flat price, instead of charging by the hour.

You can contact the IRS on your own to resolve you tax issues. But, would you go to court without a lawyer? Of course not. The IRS is not going to help you. That is not their job. They will not tell you which programs you may qualify for. As experienced, licensed tax professionals, we usually know the tax laws better than the IRS employee that we are dealing with. So, if they try to screw over our clients, we put a legal stop to that immediately. When dealing with the IRS, you’re much better off with a seasoned tax professional that has been dealing with the IRS for over 30 years.
